tennispro365 asked:

The tennis club group lessons cost around 200bucks a month plus the 20 dollar membership to get my racquet strung but for 15 dollars per racquet. In the group i have the best overall serve i can do the kick serve etc and i can slice drop shot and the other kids cant do it all they can do is topspin which makes for an easy tennis match because of the double faults they do. The assisant coach said that i have the most potential but the tennis coach didnt say anything about me. Also all the kids in the class are all rich white kids (no offense dont flame me) and im the only asian kid. My parents cant keep paying for the fees because my dads in the military currently in Iraq and my mom has to work 2 jobs just to keep up with the upcoming bills. Would it be wise to stop the lessons but still have the membership to get my racquet strung since there is no other stringer within 50 miles or just become my own stringer and i research alot on it.

t ï m asked:

In the beginning, my sister Anna started having tennis lessons. That was in 03. I decided I wanted tennis lessons too, however not at my sisters club. I joined the Kew Tennis Club in 04 and still enjoy having tennis lessons there. My sister joined the Kew Tennis Club in 06, as she felt it was ‘too easy’ at her old club. When I joined at Kew, I was having lessons once a week on my own. When my sister joined, it was once a fortnight, but I didn’t care, she’s a good player. I have just started becoming quite good at tennis. My 17 year old brother does not like this: he doesn’t like the fact that his two younger siblings can beat him at tennis. He wants lessons at my club… meaning I will have to have lessons once a month.

Albie HATES tennis. My mother is considering letting Albie in the lessons. My sister is on my side. If he joins the lessons, it won’t be a disaster; however Anna and I will forget certain things we’ve been taught. My brother wants them for the wrong reason.

Are these tennis racquets worth anything?

BeachBoarder asked:

My grandfather gave me 2 old wooden tennis racquets. On them it says Chemold, Hawk, and Owen Davidson. My aunt also has a pair and took them to a tennis lesson recently, but then her instructor said not to use them because they could be worth something.

Anyone have any insight to what they might be worth? I have no idea how old they are or any other details.
Couldn’t find anything on e-bay! But looks like comparable stuff isn’t going for much–even less than what you’d pay for a new racquet.

You know a good site that has advice on grips, serving stances, top spin, and everything else. Also, a site that is free is preferred.
