I have only been playing tennis seriously since August of 09, but had been in normal group lessons at the tennis club before. I am currently a freshman in high school and have a good shot at being a high JV player. I really want to work hard this summer to take it to the next level for next season. Any tips on drills or what I should do and do you think I can really be a good tennis player starting at such a late age(14/15)

When I was at lessons this kid had an all golden raquet that was extremely powerful, I don’t think it was an oversize, and the frame made a lot of noise when he made contact. Anyway I’ve forgotten the brand and hopefully someone can recognize it from these obscure details! lol

Also, any suggestions for a powerful midsize or midsize plus racquet?

..Hayley.. asked:

I want to learn how to play the piano but I also want to know how to play tennis. I can’t decide. I can only afford one( raising the money on my own, no help from parents).
I found a studio where piano lessons are $27/ 30 min lesson. For tennis, it’s $74/ month(5 classes).

Can I self-teach myself to play the piano with a book or online? What about tennis, can I master it with only a how-to book? I know that to be good you need proper education on both? But, you can get better with practice, right?

BookCat asked:

I’ve always wanted to do /some/ sport in high school, so I could be a more well-rounded student. This summer, I plan on taking tennis lessons.

How do I convince my parents to sign up for tennis lessons? How much do they usually cost per hour, and how does the instructor teach and where are they held?

I have never played tennis before, so I’ll be a beginner. Any tips?
