where is the best place to buy a tennis racket? what’s the best brand?

I’m a novice, I’ve played for several years very sporadically, no tennis lessons, and want to start playing more regularly. I was hoping to buy a racket in the $50-100 range. Do you have any good suggestions–which is the best brand, any particular store better than the others?

Until you are really sure tennis is your game, why not get a racket at Walmart or Target. They have acceptable rackets art reasonable costs.

I have nothing but good things to say about babolat. Go to their website and look at the recreational rackets.

I’ve always liked shopping at. They have a steady shipping rate and occasionally have some close-out sales. If I were you, I’d probably buy a Head or Prince raquet. I myself have a Babolat raquet. The only problem though with Babolats (at least a real good one) is the price range. They have a certain policy, so you won’t really find them on sale, unless you go to eBay or something. Well, anyway, good luck searching.

the best way to buy a racket is what i did.Do not listen to individuals who say i use this or that.Play at a club where you can demo a racket.I tried about 30 different ones before settling on a wilson hammer carbon matrix h-4.I saved a hundred bucks cause i bought the 05 modle as opposed to the 06.Brand new not a demo

for the 50-100 dollar range, there are a few good rackets out there.

being a novice or being a pro, it’s still nice to have a nice racket. you don’t want to get a cheap one less then 50 from walmart or target because it’ll have a lot of schock and you’ll soon lose interest.

however, what i would reccomend, is to get head’s liquidmetal. they just went on sale at places like sports authority and sports mart and is a great racket.

i would also reccomend getting some sort of schock absorber before you start. for like less then 10 dollars, you can keep you wrist and arms much more comfortable. there are the ones that are like single ones and you place them on your racket, but i prefer the longer ones that intertwine with the strings.

Untill you know that you are going to keep with tennis I would buy a tennis raket at a sports authority. I personaly like the Prince.
